With 7 changes from last week's match due not to a careful rotation policy but rather a lack of availability Hertford struggled in the first half against a youthful and well organised opposition. With fitness and unfamiliarity playing a major part despite some neat passages of play and some half chances the 2s went in five down at the half.
Better organisation and shape after the break saw long periods of promising play and finally Hertford were rewarded for their endeavours when AJ forced home a goal after a neat short corner routine in the final minute (it was just a shame Walden also scored twice in the half).
Season starts in earnest next week and everyone is raring to go.
