Hertford in 6 goal thriller

Hertford's Mixed summer league team came from behind to beat Bishop's Stortford in a 6 goal thriller at Broxbourne Hockey Club. Hertford began the game positively after beating top of the league Shotgunners 2-1 a week before. However the game didn't start off as they imagined with Bishop's Stortford using their pace up front to break down the Hertford Defence.

Hertford found themselves 3-0 at half time with a lot of ground to make up in order to fight for a decent result. They began the second half in a much more positive manner and pressed Bishop's Stortford high up the pitch before grabbing a goal back mid way through the second half. They then grabbed a second towards the back end of the second half and suddenly Hertford began to believe that they could get something from the game. They carried on with the same intensity and commitment and eventually, a few minutes from time they grabbed the 3rd and final goal of the game to bring the final score to 3-3. A thoroughly enjoyable game and one that will help Hertford towards a second place finish in the Mixed League.
