In their penultimate game of this years Summer League Hertford lost a two goal lead to a well drilled Winchmore Hill & Enfield side. Hertford took the lead through a Darren Norman strike and continued to press high up the pitch looking to grab a second goal and push on for the 3 points. James Begg then grabbed the second of the game as Hertford seemed to be composing themselves moving into the later stages of the game.
Despite the lead, Hertford became complacent and soon saw themselves concede a goal after the umpire raised a long corner to a penalty corner after protests from the Hertford back line. Not long after, Hertford conceded the equaliser and the game stood at 2-2 moving into the final quarter of the game. Hertford continued to pile on the pressure but couldn't find the winning goal and saw the game finish at 2-2.
Due to the result in the game after Hertford, where Bishops Stortford beat Welwyn 4-0, Hertford will have to settle for 2nd place. Overall, it has been a superb Summer Season for Hertford and they will be looking to finish on a high with their re-arranged game against Broxbourne on Friday 28th August.
