Hertford concede in the final second of the game for only their second defeat of the summer league.

Hertford knew, going into this game that a win would all but guarantee the Broxbourne Summer League title. The start of the game was fast paced and saw some good opportunities opening up for both sides however it was Potters Bar that broke the deadlock and then scored a second not long after. Despite the scoreline, Hertford pressed on and grabbed one back after Ben Tootell played a beautiful pass to the back post where the returning James Ware got a touch to finish off a lovely move. Hertford then became complacent again and found themselves 3-1 down going into the break after a quick thinking ball was fired in from a free hit and deflected in by the unmarked centre forward.

The second half saw Hertford on top as they pressed on to find the goals that would help them grab at least a point. Bar were very well organised at the back but Hertford were patient in their build up play and the final shot at goal saw them struggle to convert. The goals did eventually come and the score sat at 3-3 going into the final 10 minutes. Hertford continued to press and create chance after chance but could not grab that vital goal that would secure them the 3 points. As the final minute of the game was signalled by the umpires it was the turn of Bar to have what would be only their second threatening attack of the second half. Their play resulted in a short corner which was first blown up for an early run into the D by the Bar winger. As the second short corner was set up, the final whistle was blown by the umpire and the rest of the team joined them in front of goal. Unfortunately for Hertford this would see them suffer only their second defeat of the campaign as a well thought out routine was finished off to leave the score at 4-3.

Hertford now have it all to do and will require at least a win and a draw from their final 2 games if Bishop Stortford manage 2 win their final games.
Next up for Hertford is Broxbourne, who will be looking for revenge after their earlier defeat to Hertford.
