Hertford beat local Rivals in thrilling encounter

Hertford headed to their next summer league game to try and gaining yet another victory and more bragging rights over their local rivals. A much changed side from previous games saw Hertford make a slow start against Broxbourne and seeing themselves go a goal behind inside the first 10 minutes. Despite the slow start it didn't take long before Hertford found an equaliser and gradually grew into the game but the lead didn't last long, with the ball given away in the centre of the park, Broxbourne had a swift attack converted and headed into the break 2-1 ahead.

The second half began much the same as the first with Broxbourne piling on the pressure and seeing their good play rewarded with a further goal. The Broxbourne pressure didn't last long thought and Hertford soon showed the spirit that they had done through the summer league which has seen them remain undefeated up to this point.
James Begg then grabbed another goal back for Hertford to switch the pressure over to Broxbourne, who struggled to cope with the constant threat from the Hertford front line. Adam Price then scored the equaliser for Hertford after a silky bit of skill inside Broxbournes final third.

As the match went on, the the gaps began to emerge in Broxbournes back line and with the keeper under pressure from several initial shots, it was Mike Branford who scored the winner with a fine reverse sweep into the top right corner of the goal. Hertford held on to record another victory over their biggest rivals and another victory in this years summer league.
