Hertford Men win Penultimate Game

Due to Hertford's superior goal difference over both WGC and Bishop's Stortford, a win would all but seal 2nd place in this years Broxbourne Summer League. Hertford decided to play the game with a kicking back by the name of Ben Tootell having not managed to get a goal keeper for the game. Nevertheless this didn't stop Hertford from playing in their normal attacking style right from the start. They piled the pressured straight onto Cheshunt who stood firm and battled through each wave of attack. However, it didn't take long for Hertford to break the deadlock and then continue adding on the goals. It wasn't all smiles for Hertford though after going 2-0 they conceded a rather controversial goal that Ben Tootell had no chance of stopping.

This didn't hold Hertford back though and they went into the break a comfortable 5-1. The second half saw much of the same with Cheshunt rarely making it into Hertford's final third. A further 7 goals came in the second half leaving Hertford in the best possible position going into their final game against rivals Bishop's Stortford.
