Hertford arrived at last nights game knowing that a win would put them 3 points above Bishop's Stortford and Welwyn in the chase for 2nd Place. Despite their superior goal difference all 3 teams began the evening level on 25 points with Bishop's Stortford having played a game more.
The game began with Welwyn having most of the possession in Hertford's half and they looked like the more likely team to snatch a goal first. However, Hertford took on the waves of attack and eventually got the breakthrough. This paved the way for the rest of the game with Hertford going in at the break 5-1 to the good.
The second half was much the same with Welwyn grabbing another goal and Hertford another 3 making the final score a respectable 8-2. Hertford now face Cheshunt 2s before finishing off the Summer League against Bishop's Stortford on the 21st August.
