We went into the game with momentum from two weeks of really good training and a fantastic result last weekend showing alot of character and we were full of confidence going into the game.
We know there are no easy games in this league and that Witham were going to make us work hard and were an experienced team.
Witham started strong and it took us a while to work out how to handle their formation. This resulted in two goals in quick succession in the first half meaning we were two down at half time.
We continued to push and had alot of chances but didnt quite manage to get the final touch in the d. The more we pressed forward the more gaps opened up and Witham scored 3 quick breakaway goals. We continued to press and at this time the game was well beyond our reach.
We were punished for not converting any of our 5 short corners and we know what we need to work on this week. This is a game which we need to put behind us and claw back the momentum we have worked so hard to create going into our game next week against Letchworth.
Special mention goes to Ian 'Smudger' Smith for stepping up and going in goal and putting in a solid performance.
