Good morning sports fans and welcome to another busy weekend of sport!
Today is match day 7 of the 2019/20 East Hockey League season, rugby world cup final day and the first leg of the Olympic qualifiers for the GB Mens and Womens Hockey teams against Malaysia and Chile respectively.
Tomorrows sporting action includes the second leg of the Olympic hockey qualifiers - which we hope will see both teams qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Many of you will be up early in anticipation of an exciting game...between England and South Africa to see who lands the William Webb Ellis trophy in Japan. Don't peak too early though as the 3s don't play Blueharts 5s until 16:45 - you'd be forgiven for having beer with your Shreddies and Horlicks as your post-match bevvie!! (Other breakfast cereals and hot drinks are available.)
Note: To anyone who has played against Blueharts before, the venue for the 3s game is Blueharts Hockey Club, Lucas Lane, Hitchin, SG5 2LT - NOT Hitchin Grammar school.
Blueharts 5s haven't had the best of starts to their season but that doesn't mean they'll be a pushover and they'll be looking to seek inspiration from, and capitalise on, support from the shiny new clubhouse overlooking their pitch.
A win for the 3s could see them:
It's almost fireworks day so hopefully the 3s can score a few crackers, run (but not fizzle out) like rockets, all put in a sparkling display and earn another 3 points!
Good luck lads.
