Good morning sports fans, today is match day 4 of the 2019/20 East Hockey League season.
What a weekend of sport...
England may have met their Czech mate in the European Championship qualifier last night but what a start to today?! Eliud Kipchoge smashing the INEOS 1:59 marathon challenge, completing it in 1:59:40.2. That may not have been as exciting as the cancelled World Cup Rugby could have been but what an achievement!
In just a little longer than it took for that amazing achievement the 3s push back against West Herts 4th XI at Ridgeway Academy.
West Herts 4s are flying high with a 100% record (P3, W3, GF13, GA6). We may have only 1 point, but that belies the efforts of the 3s so far. Last week saw us dig deep and unlucky not to earn points, losing 2-1 away at Bishops Stortford 4s who also had a 100% record.
Hopefully the 3s go the extra mile today, working hard as a team to frustrate and nullify West Herts 4s to dent their stats. As with Stortford they do concede goals so hopefully a slightly different formation and the luxuary of subs can see the us explot any frailties and earn our first league win of the season.
Good luck lads!
P.S. back to the weekend of sport there is also the Rugby League Super League Grand Final at 18:00 today when St Helens play Salford Red Devils at Old Trafford
