5. FIH Academy Programme


Hertford Hockey is pleased to link up with the FIH to pilot a new FIH Academy Leadership Programmes


FIH Hockey Leaders Award

Proposed in addition to the FIH Youth Leadership Certificate with a greater focus on education and development of youth and adult volunteers.

Purpose

  • To educate volunteers by introducing various leadership roles and skills in hockey to reward recognised voluntary service in hockey
  • To support two groups: Young (Youth - U18) & Community (Adult - 18+)
  • To certificate based qualitative and quantitative criteria
  • To encourage Practical Placement

The FIH Academy Leaders Award aims to give learners the skills and knowledge to be able to assist in leading their own activities as part of a school, club, or association.

The Award has two stages - Young Leader (14- 17yrs) and Community Leader (18+), both targeted at young people and adults in voluntary coaching, officiating, and administrative roles. The Award is designed as an introduction to various leadership roles in hockey.

The Award may be delivered by any FIH member affiliated club, school, or organisation using an FIH Academy Developer/Educator or Trainer

We have 12 spaces available for our club members and for those that expressed an interest previously we have a place for you on this but anyone else that is interested – then please get in contact with Anna Martinez-Lewis

There will be more details to follow on this in the next few weeks, but this is an excellent opportunity for our youngsters and grows the club’s relationship with the FIH
