Ladies
Ladies 1’s, with the East League starting next week, had a friendly against high flying Burnt Ash from Kent, and despite the 4-2 defeat it was an encouraging performance.
Ladies 2’s entertained local rivals Broxbourne, and despite it goalless first half, they powered to an 8-0 victory with Coach Mary Woodward grabbing a double hat-trick and Clare Hawes and Vanesse Stembridge also on the score sheet
Ladies 3’s had an early start at Royston III, but in a tight game came away with a 3-2 victory with goals from Becca Willis, Lucie Blackman and Lizzy Moore
Ladies 4’s won their bottom of the table clash 2-0 against Chiltern III, despite having an outfield player in goal.
Ladies 5’s held on to second playing in Div 4, with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Berkhamsted & Hemel with goals from Lucy Heald, Emily Palmer and Emily Parry
Men
The Men’s 1’s took a large squad to Haileybury for a tournament with Bishops Stortford and Potters Bar and had a constructive session beating Stortford 2-1 and losing to Potters Bar 2-0.
Two mixed men’s teams had friendlies on Saturday, with a mix of 2’s/3’s losing 2-1 at West Hampstead with Jono Ayton the scorer. A mixture of 3’s and 4’s had a late entertaining draw at Welwyn Garden City 3-3 with goals from Matt Earle 2 and Andre Langeveld.
Finally the men’s 6’s entertained West Herts VII and drew 2-2 with goals from Chris Duncan and Dave Harding giving them a two goal lead, but West Herts fought back in the second half.
