FROZEN GAMES / SESSIONS
This winter is expected to be the coldest for five years. The information below applies throughout the club, Junior and Senior, in the event of fixtures / training being called off due to freezing temperatures.

Our pitches are usually inspected quite early on a Saturday as we need to notify opposition teams who can travel a fair distance to get here. As a result we get an early call on home games. Away games are usually as the message gets through but Captains should be in touch directly, in the first instance, of a cancellation taking place.

As has been the case over the last couple of weeks with Ladies Training on the 29th and Youth Training on the 12th , cancelled training sessions will be given as much notice as possible in advance of potential poor conditions / an unsuitable playing surface but please be aware that we’re often relying on future forecasts.

In the event of cancelled games / training we will, as early as possible;

• Post it on the Hertford Hockey Club (on very cold days, one post is usually updated throughout the day for multiple fixtures)
• Announce it on Twitter and Facebook
• Captains may use WhatsApp to communicate with teams
