With charity feats becoming bigger and more grand with every passing month, it can take something extra special to capture the imagination of the public beyond that of the norm.

Gone were the days when sitting in a bath of baked beans will cut it, imaginative ideas and testing the body to the limit are very much the order of the day.

And this applies perfectly to the challenge being undertaken by 26 hockey players in order to try to raise over £30,000 for the Help for Heroes charity.

Starting this Thursday, the Hockey for Heroes Invitational Squad will play 33 games of hockey in the space of just ten days from as far north as Glasgow and as far south as Portsmouth, finishing on May 30.

And that's not it, they are also doing the Three Peaks Challenge in between playing the games when they will climb up Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon.

Playing both military and civilian teams along the way, Hertford will play its part in this incredible feat.

Currently the target is to raise £30k, and so far they have reached just under £16k, you can donate on the link below
