2011/2012 Fixtures Hertford Hockey Club (HHC) enters teams into a variety of local and national competitions, and organises friendlies, so that the players can learn about playing competitive hockey in a safe and enjoyable environment. Information on fixtures is also given in the age group sections on on this website. Hertfordshire Junior Hockey Leagues HHC enters teams into the Hertfordshire Junior Hockey Leagues. The U10 and U12 Leagues are for mixed teams, and it is a great way for the younger players to convert what they have learnt in training into the match environment. It is also a lot of fun for the children! The U14 and U16 Leagues have separate leagues for boys and girls teams, which a more suitable arrangement for these age groups. Information on the fixtures and dates of matches are give on this website under each age group, and information the whole HJHL arrangement (including fixtures, results and league tables) can be found on the HJHL website at www.hertsjuniorhockeyleague.moonfruit.com. Hertfordshire County Tournament Each year Hertford Hockey Club enters teams into the County Tournament, that is usually held one day of a weekend in the Spring. U10 Boys, U10 Girls, U12 Boys and U12 Girls Teams are entered in this tournament. The winners of the U10 Tournaments, and the winners and runners-up of the U12 Tournaments, go through to the East of England Tournament which has all the best teams from the Region competing. HHC were successful in having two teams competing in the 2009/10 East Of England Tournament, and another two teams in the 2010/11 East of England Tournament, which shows that Hertford has teams that are among the best in the region! Dates of the County and Regional Tournaments will be available soon. National Championships The 2011/12 season is the first year that Hertford Hockey Club has entered teams into the National Championships. This puts Hertford Hockey Club playng against some of the biggest and best clubs in the country, and it shows how far the Youth section of the Club has progressed in a short period of time. The U14 Girls Team and the Under 14 Boys team are both entered in this competition this year.
